Dasol Kim Piano
Hailing from his triumphant performance with the New York Philharmonic, Da Sol Kim is one of the most exciting pianists to emerge onto international spotlight. Widely lauded by the press for his astounding interpretations, he captivates the audience with remarkable one and utmost clarity. Praised for his splendid interpretations of solo piano works, in May 2015, the first CD of Da Sol Kim has been released on Deutch Grammophon. It features a piano solo works of R.Schumman.
He is the award-winning pianist of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Géza Anda Competition, ARD International Music Competition and other renowned international competitions. Da Sol has been acclaimed as a distinguished pianist at performances with various orchestras such as Kammerorchester Berlin, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, München Chamber Orchestra, Südwest-deutsche Philharmonie Konstanz as well as the leading Korean orchestras and chamber ensembles. In the summer of 2011, Da Sol played a recital at the La Roque d'Anthéron Piano Festival and made an appearance at the 2011 International Klavierfestival Junger Meister at Lake Constance. He gave a remarkable six concerts at Kumho Art Hall throughout the year 2013 with a wide range of music as the ‘Artist-in-Residence of Kumho Art Hall' in Korea.
2014/15 season includes numerous performances across the globe in Europe and Asia, one of which will be recorded live by North German Broadcasting station.
Da Sol was born in 1989 in Busan, South Korea, and he started playing the piano at the age of 11. By listening to the recording of Bartók's For Children and playing along, he taught himself to play. Later he graduated the Busan High School of Arts and moved to Germany for his further studies. Da Sol studied with Gerald Fauth and Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. He is currently living in Hannover and studying with Professor Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.
